One note about the verbs:
Verb Aspect Examples: "Want"
Imperfective (general, habitual, or ongoing desire)
Past: I wanted a book.
(was desiring)
Present: I want a book.
(am desiring now)
Future: I will want a book.
(will be desiring later)
Perfective (a single, completed instance of wanting)
Past: I wanted a book (and got it).
(desired once, fulfilled)
Future: I will want a book (and then get it).
(will desire once, then act)
Note: English doesn't mark perfective/imperfective as strictly as Russian. Context determines the aspect.
First Conjugation
Infinitive typically ends in: -ать, -ять, -еть (non -ить), -уть, -оть, -ыть, -ть (except -ить)
Present/Future Endings: -у/-ю, -ешь, -ет, -ем, -ете, -ут/-ют
Examples: читать (to read), писать (to write), знать (to know)
Second Conjugation
Infinitive typically ends in: -ить (plus some exceptions: -еть, -ать)
Present/Future Endings: -у/-ю, -ишь, -ит, -им, -ите, -ат/-ят
Examples: говорить (to speak), видеть (to see), слышать (to hear)
